The borders between the urban and the rural, inherited from capitalism, patriarchy, colonialism and speciesism, still feed the archetype that nature is virgin and pure, making invisible all the wild creatures that inhabit these borders and that constitute, perhaps, the only nature that our future generations will know. Not defending and conserving them is ecocide. In an attempt to re-de-construct this anthropocentric concept of nature, Substrates intersects hydrobodies, botany, soil chromatography, and biomaterials. All this, through sonoplasty, ecological acoustics through which performative rituals are activated that immerse us in the properties of the matter of symbiotic fungi and creatures of water and land, their alliances and their habitats.

Joana Moher > Sociologist, educational psychologist and plastic artist from San Pedro de Moel, Portugal, living in Barcelona. Fome Bruta is a transdisciplinary and domestic research, between science and witchcraft, a cross between acoustic-ecology and the study of human and more than human habitats, biomaterials and the properties of matter. Joana Moher explores sonoplasty, that is, the plasticity of metabolized geophonic, biophonic and anthropophonic sounds in audiovisual, textile and graphic experiments. Lately, her work has been seen at the University of Minho (Braga, Portugal), the BB15 Gallery (Linz, Austria) and at the MACBA (Barcelona).
